WHAT
IS AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM?
It is a test that uses ultrasound to
examine the heart. It allows accurate measurements
of the heart chambers as well as showing heart muscle
pumping, valves opening and closing and the great
vessels that exit the heart.
WHAT IS A DOPPLER STUDY?
It's a special part of the exam that
assesses blood flow direction and velocity.
